Whisbone Ash meets Curved Air with the addition of many modern doom vibes. Stunning, commanding, charismatic female vocals; dual guitar duels; impeccable songwriting; great riffs. Gripping from start to finish. A dark yet glowing heavy rock jewel.
Favorite track: Dark Side Of The Cross.
I've never found an album where every single song was perfect... Until I found 'Blues For A Dying Planet'. I've got that feeling of being back in the 70's. Amazing band!
Favorite track: Labyrinth Of The Mind.
We're honoured that swedish 70s rock music quintet Spiral Skies join forces with AOP Records
Their fabulous long awaited debut album "Blues for a Dying Planet" will be released on May 18th, 2018.
With influences ranging over decades, Spiral Skies has created a sound that can most easily be described as “On other planets kinda Rock”.
An unique blend of folk, doom and 70s rock music. The band has been compared to band such as Jefferson Airplane, Curved Air and The Devil's Blood, to name a few.
The band has spellbound their audience with their unique visual performance with intense and enchanting live shows, and their earlier releases EP “A Queendom to Come” gained a lot of attention on Bandcamp, resulting in the following single “Event Horizon”.
"An orchestra from the labyrinth of your mind, the sound of light years passing by, the sound of the ride of Spiral Skies"

For me, this is a perfect example of how amazing NWOTHM can be, because it sounds like a bunch of nerds just geeking out about Heavy Metal and Fantasy and being really good at it by coincidence!
So from one nerd to others: fantastic job!
p.s. Love the Moorcock references! Yordi V
