A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken
The mix of raw, brutal rage with beautiful melodies reminds me of fellow Native black metaler Ifernach, but obviously Ushangvagush is very much its own wonderfully twisted creature. Across the ravaged landscape a bleak wind blows, roaring with the voice of the place’s violated Manidou. He is coming for the leech-rot-larval-white settlers with heavy red fists, blazing yellow cat-eyes, and antlers made from the bones of those unjustly slaughtered. He is coming and his vengeance will not be denied. Dave Aftandilian
I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
Crushing blackened doom from this German band that counterbalances blinding fury with moments of surprising, melancholy melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 8, 2023
The eight tracks on the latest from German black metal band pummel and hiss, working occasional atmospheric moments into the din. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 12, 2022
This whole album is flawless. This is music for walking in the rain and letting your thoughts run. It's not just a collection of songs, but an actual album. yakbone
